Minimizing and Navigating Among Workbook

MS-WordPad

CTRL + N

Create a New default Workbook.

MS-Paint

CTRL + F9

Minimize the active workbook window.

MS-Word

CTRL + TAB

Select the next minimized workbook window.

MS-Excel

CTRL + SHIFT + TAB

Select the previous minimized workbook window.

MS-PowerPoint

CTRL + F10

Restore or maximize the selected minimized workbook window.

MS-Access

SHIFT + F11, ALT + SHIFT + F1

Insert a new worksheet in the active workbook.

MS-Outlook

CTRL + PAGE UP

Move to the previous worksheet.

MS-FrontPage

CTRL + PAGE UP

Move to the next worksheet.

Adobe Photoshop

CTRL + SHIFT + PAGE DOWN

Select the current worksheet and the next worksheet.

Adobe Flash

CTRL + HOME

Move to the last used cell in the worksheet.

Adobe PageMaker

CTRL + END

Move to the first cell in the worksheet

PAGE DOWN

Move down one screen.

Internet Explorer

PAGE UP

Move up one screen.

Mozilla Firefox

ALT + PAGE UP

Move to the left by one screen.

 

ALT + PAGE DOWN

Move to the right by one screen.

 

CTRL + BACKSPACE

Scroll the workbook to display the active cell.

 

CTRL + G

Display the Go To dialog box.

 

Selecting Cells, Rows, and Columns

 

CTRL + SPACEBAR

Extend the selection in the direction of the arrow key.

 

SHIFT + SPACEBAR

Select the current columns.

 

CTRL + A

Select all cells on the current worksheet.

 

SHIFT + BACKSPACE

Reduce the selection to the active cell.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + SPACEBAR

Select all the objects on the current worksheet while retaining the current selection.

 

F8

Toggle Extend mode on and off.

 

SHIFT + F8

Toggle add mode on and off.

 

SHIFT + HOME

Extend the selection to the first cell in the row.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + HOME

Extend the selection to the first cell used on the worksheet.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + END

Extend the selection to the last cell used on the worksheet.

 

SHIFT + PAGE DOWN

Extend the selection downward by one screen.

 

SHIFT +  PAGE UP

Extend the selection upward by one screen.

 

Selecting Cells That Match criteria

 

CTRL + SHIFT + *

Select the data region.

 

CTRL + /

Select the array that the active cell is in.

 

CTRL + \

Select non-matching cells in the active row.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + |

Select non-matching cells in the active column.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + 0

Select all cells that have comments attached.

 

ALT + ;

Select only the visible cells in the current selection.

 

CTRL + [

Select cells directly referenced by formulas in the active cell.

 

CTRL + ]

Select cells that contain formulas directly referencing the active cell.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + {

Select cells directly or indirectly referenced by formulas in the active cell.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + }

Select cells that contain formulas directly or indirectly referencing the active cell.

 

Entering and Editing Data

 

ENTER

Enter the entry in the cell and select the next cell.

 

ESC

Cancel editing in the active cell.

 

SHIFT + ENTER

Enter the entry in the cell and select the next cell in the opposite direction.

 

TAB

Enter the entry in the cell and select the next cell to the right.

 

SHIFT + TAB

Enter the entry in the cell and  select the next cell to the left.

 

CTRL + ENTER

Fill the selected range with the entry.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + :

Enter the time in the active cell.

 

CTRL + ;

Enter the date in the active cell.

 

CTRL + F3

Display the Define Name dialog box.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + F3

Display the Create Names dialog box.

 

CTRL + DOWN ARROW

Display the AutoComplete drop-down list

 

F2

Switch the active cell into Edit mode.

 

SHIFT + F2

Insert a new comment or edit the existing comment.

 

BACKSPACE

Delete from the insertion point to the end of the cell's contents.

 

CTRL + DELETE

Delete from the insertion point to the end of the cell's contents.

 

ALT + ENTER

Begin a new line within the active cell.

 

CTRL + SHIFT + Z

Undo the most recent AutoCorrect.
